A fill-in-the-blank resume for your job and internship hunt

Well, it’s that time of the year: internship/job hunting season. I’ve noticed there’s two ways to nab a job/internship. From personal experience, they are:

  1. You know somebody who can get you the job.
  2. Nobody in the company knows anyone and you are overly impressive.

Whether it be more of a formality or your only hope, it’s time to throw your resume at every workplace in your industry as well as retail jobs — just in case. Creating a well-crafted resume is not easy to do. I mean, you’re supposed to stand out while following a format? Easy enough, right?

But resumes are tough to make, especially when you’re on a deadline. So, here’s a fill-in-the-blank of a solid resume. Each section describes what should go there, so delete the text, add your own information, and there you go. A completely original and creative resume. You’re welcome, and I expect at least 5 percent of your paycheck from all the jobs and internships you get from your incredible resume.

He knows how to construct a good resume because he’s been in Career Services so much that he knows what a great resume should look like — he just can’t do it himself. He can be reached by email at jfeinbla@syr.edu, on Twitter @joshfeinblatt or on LinkedIn if you want to see how truly bad his resume is.
